Zach's first day of Kentwood high school has officially arrived!  And, it's the 1st day of Kylie's last year at Crestwood Elementary.  Where did the time go?  Since high school starts so much earlier than elementary school, I unfortunately didn't get a picture of the 2 kids together this morning...dang, that's the first time. Bummer huh!  Oh well, you can still see how old they are getting and how much taller both of them are! Yikes!

We headed down to Pacific Beach to hang out with the Lange's and stay in their tent trailer.  What a great weekend we had!  Saturday was just beautiful and we watched some great sculpters at the sand castle contest.  Some people are so creative! Funny thing is, Tina and Kurt's neighbors from Everett were at the beach building a sand castle of their Husky dog named Dana.  We turned around to look at another team's sand castle and lo and behold, Zach said, 'Hey - I know those people!  That's Tracy's friends Dave and Sheri'!  Too funny!  We walked up to them and introduced ourselves and talked for a bit.  So friendly!  They were staying in nearby Seabrook.  What a small world.  Great weather, great fun and more margaritas!  The kids tried skim boarding but realized there was a learning curve.  They tried and fell but still had fun.  Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures while they were doing this.  Thanks Tina and Kurt for a fun time!

Our family reunion was cancelled at the last minute since my uncle had to stay in D.C. due to an emergency with my Aunt Stephanie who is suffering from Lyme Disease.  Well, we decided that since we had all the food and beverages, we'd carry on with the immediate family and still have some fun.  Uncle Bobby made margaritas and my cousin Tracy came in from Molokai (we haven't seen her in 4 years since she moved!).  We had a great time!

When we picked up Kylie from Greg and Linda's house, we brought our niece Katie home with us for a few days.  Jeff bought the kids a pool and Sloane, Katie and Kylie were inseparable!  They had a sleepover in the tent in the backyard and played in the pool during the day.  Talk about fun!

Jeff and Zach went to the Seahawk training camp in Renton.  Pretty impressive facility and they really enjoyed watching the players and even got some pictures up close while some of them signed autographs at the end of the camp.  Pretty nice of them to indulge all those kids (adults too) after a long practice like that!  Gotta love our Seahawks!  We are excited for the season to really begin.

We gathered at Mom's house to celebrate all the August birthdays in the family.  Mom (70), Tami (48), Tina (45), and Zack (36).  Al bbq'd up some nice burgers and some chicken and we all pitched in with side dishes.  It was delicious as always!  And, we had a wonderful ice cream cake with vanilla ice cream on one side and my personal favorite - chocolate chip mint.   Mmmmmmm mmmmm good!  Thanks for hosting Mom!  You did good!

What a beautiful night with the moon and the nice big firepit that was recently built!

While the adults were busy building the shop deck, the kids took off in the whaler to the tide flats to go swimming and toss the football around.  They were gone for several hours and finally made their way back because they were hungry!  Silly kids! Rocky missed Zach while he was out swimming so he said 'I'm going to nap on your pillow then!'

While Kylie had fun down in Ridgefield with Uncle Greg and Aunt Linda, we headed to Whidbey to help rebuild the shop deck so that no one else fell down through the floor of it.  Unfortunately it was one of the hottest weekends we had but work had to be done!  The finished product looks great and it's very sturdy too!

Today we met Greg in Tacoma to deliver Kylie for the week.  Greg and Linda are staying at Papa's house this weekend and then heading back to Vancouver and taking Kylie with them so she can hang out with Katie and Chandler and spend some time with her cousins.  We will go next weekend to Vancouver to stay the night and visit before we bring Kylie home with us.  Miss you already Lu! But we know you will have fun!
